Tomorrow the Frankford school will be closed for a traditional snow day. We will make a decision on Monday evening about what to do with Tuesday. We hope to have a remote learning day on Tuesday and then a remote day for the A cohort on Wednesday. Much of that decision will be based on whether or not there will be power outages. Have a great evening and happy shoveling!

Grades 4-8 As we transition back into in-person learning today, it is critical that we maintain the whole class check-in process regardless of cohort day. This will endure the following: - keep that expectation the same for our students. (every period- every day) - maintain the ability for teachers to keep whole class lessons should they choose at points in the unit -make sure students understand the independent learning assignment before releasing them -maintain the most accurate attendance for us and parents -gives teachers the flexibility to ebb and flow between small group and whole-class instruction, activities, and assessments.

We plan on moving back to Hybrid learning on Monday as long as the county doesn't move into the red phase. The DOH report will be out on Thursday afternoon. We will be in touch if anything changes.

Reminder.... All students grades 4-8 should be logging in LIVE to each class regardless of cohort for attendance, announcements, questions, directions, and expectations for the day. See our detailed plan in the News page.

To The Frankford Twp. Community, The Frankford Twp. Board of Education has remained committed to working alongside the FTEA to find agreement on a new contract. We recognize and appreciate our school, administration, and teachers and the tremendous value they all play in our community, especially in turbulent times such as these. It is our role as a board to listen to their needs while seeking balance to financial responsibilities, which have complex and direct impact to the successful operation of our school, budget and ultimately our students. The NJ statewide aid cuts to education, which began in school year 2017/18, will extend through 2024 and is a total of $1.69 million loss just in our district alone. When contract negotiations began, we knew we would be facing unprecedented financial challenges and now the global pandemic has added further complication. These are realities that cannot go unchecked. We look forward to resuming talks through mediation as requested by the FTEA. It is our goal to continue these important conversations with the FTEA while maintaining our responsibilities to the constraints of school budget and our community taxpayers. Until an agreement is reached, all current contract terms and compensation remain in place. We appreciate now more than ever the ongoing commitment and efforts of our teachers.
