Member of the Frankford Board of Education since January 2021.
Kate joined the Frankford Board of Education in January of 2021. She is a life-long resident of Frankford Township and the daughter of two retired teachers. She is now raising her three school-aged children on Lake Owassa, where she grew up, with her husband Carlton. Kate teaches Spanish at Newton High School and has over 18 years of classroom experience. Kate believes that teaching children to be good citizens involves time in the classroom and outside of it, including sports, community service, and social events. Throughout her teaching career Kate has coached middle school and high school sports, served as a class advisor for over 8 years, and helped lead school clubs. These activities help students build confidence and learn new skills.
Outside of the workplace, Kate enjoys traveling with her family, skiing, gardening, camping, hiking, and coaching Girls on the Run at Frankford Park. During fall 2020, Kate started the Star Light, Star Bright initiative in Branchville and Frankford. This led to hundreds of lighted stars on homes and businesses, brightening our whole community.
Kate is honored to serve on the Frankford Township Board of Education. She is proud of our public school system and strives to provide a world class education, in a safe environment, to every child in our community.
