safe kids April is Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month.

                                           Other Springtime Safety Tips:
                                                                         - No flip-flops for play : wear closed or secure and supportive foot wear for play
                                                                         - Apply sunscreen and insect repellant
                                                                         - Wear safety gear when playing sports, skate/rollerblading, biking
                                                                         - Remain well hydrated and take breaks during active play
                                                                         - Have emergency medications, such as inhalers, Epipens, etc., available & easily                                                                         accessible 
                                                                         - Play with a group or a buddy and have a "safe adult" nearby for supervision
                                                                         - Practice window safety at home:
                                                                                > if opening windows, open top half vs. bottom half of window to minimize access                                                                                 by child and risk of fall
                                                                                > place blind strings high and away from child's reach to minimize choking risk 
                                                                                > keep furniture away from windows
